About Dorte Juul

Dorte Juul is a Danish artist with a love for color, freedom, and immersion. She began her painting journey in 2011 after many years with a budding desire to learn the art of painting. With a background in a life filled with creativity – both at work and at home – the canvas became a natural next step.

Dorte has received education at the Guldborgsund Art School, including under Carsten Krogstrup, where she has developed skills in areas such as color theory, croquis and portraiture. This has given her a strong artistic foundation and a deeper understanding of both technique and expression.

When Dorte paints, it is with her heart first and her gaze on the present. Her paintings are often inspired by the small glimpses and emotions of everyday life, and her style moves from the colorfully abstract to the more figurative. Each work contains a story – and she paints both her own motifs and commissioned works with her personal touch.

Alongside her artistic life, Dorte works as a nurse. Painting is her free space – a meditative process where creativity is allowed to flow freely and balance a busy everyday life.
